COG Segment LCD (Chip-on-Glass Segment Liquid Crystal Display) is a liquid crystal display technology where the driver chip (IC) is directly bonded onto the glass substrate. It features high integration, slim design, low power consumption, and low cost.
COG Segment Display encapsulates the driver IC onto the liquid crystal glass using anisotropic conductive film (ACF), enabling the interconnection between the IC conductive bumps and the ITO (indium tin oxide) conductive pads on the glass. This simplifies the module structure and reduces volume and weight. Its core components include liquid crystal glass, ITO circuits, electromagnetic shielding films, and waterproof sealants, among others. COG bonds the IC onto the glass, whereas COB (Chip-on-Board) packages the IC onto the PCB, making COG products more lightweight compared to COB. COG LCD connection methods include PIN and FPC, with FPC being the most widely used. The performance of COG Segment Display is entirely consistent with that of standard LCD segment screens. It can withstand high-intensity environmental tests and meets the parameter requirements for industries such as industrial, medical, automotive, and home appliances. All products comply with the ROHS 2.0 directive and REACH regulations.
