Last week, Dalian Eastern Display Co., Ltd. launched a comprehensive 5S initiative with full staff participation, aiming to present a refreshed image for the upcoming production peak. As a professional LCD and LCM manufacturer, the significance of 5S management for Eastern Display is self-evident.
The manufacturing of LCD display products requires extremely stringent environmental standards, as even the slightest dust or impurities can directly compromise product quality and performance stability. To address this, Eastern Display has rigorously implemented the 5S management system. Through its five systematic steps———Shengli (organizing), Tancheng (standardizing), Chongqing (sweeping), Qingjian (cleaning), and Xiuren (cultivating good habits)—the company maintains a clean, orderly, and efficient production environment.

The company leadership placed high priority on this initiative, with department heads personally leading staff in implementing 5S practices. During the organization phase, employees conducted a thorough inventory of materials in warehouses and workshops, removing expired, damaged, and obsolete items from storage areas to ensure clear inventory records. In the straightening process, warehouse managers reconfigured material storage zones based on usage frequency and production workflows, replacing outdated labels with more visible ones. This transformed previously cluttered storage areas into orderly spaces. For cleaning, staff paid meticulous attention to every corner, thoroughly sanitizing equipment, floors, and window sills while removing years of accumulated dust, giving the workshop a fresh new look. Regarding maintenance standards, the company not only established stricter environmental protocols but also organized on-site training sessions to reinforce employees’ understanding and execution of 5S principles, encouraging them to integrate these practices into their daily work routines.
Through this routine 5S (5S) comprehensive clean-up initiative, Eastern Display has not only optimized its workplace environment but also deeply embedded the 5S philosophy into employees ‘daily routines, effectively enhancing all staff’s awareness and sense of responsibility regarding 5S practices.
